Shito Ryu Genbukai

The University of Saskatchewan Karate-do is a member of Shitoryu Karate-do Genbukai International, which was founded by Master Fumio Demura. The Shitoryu Karatedo Genbukai organization sets out the course of instruction, trains and certifies instructors and provides rank recognition for its members. Each year Master Demura comes to Canada to offer instruction to all Shitoryu Karatedo Genbukai members and to conduct instructor training as well as black belt examinations. In addition, members are encouraged to train at the Shitoryu Karatedo Genbukai headquarters located in southern California. We also offer training opportunities in Japan for those interested.
